PS75Q Student Cell Phone & Electronic Device Policy (2025–2026)

Purpose


To ensure a safe, focused, and respectful learning environment, P75Q follows the NYC Public Schools guidelines regarding student use of personal electronic devices.

🔒 General Rule
Students may not use any personal internet-enabled electronic devices (e.g., cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, etc.) during the entire instructional day, unless explicitly permitted under the exceptions below.

Parents/guardians may contact their child's school building during the school day through the main office. Staff will relay messages to students as needed.

In the event of an emergency, families will receive updates through ClassDojo, our school's designated automated communication system. To ensure you receive timely alerts and important school updates, please download the ClassDojo app and connect to your child’s class using the invitation provided by their teacher. ⚠ Violations & Consequences

Failure to follow this policy may result in:

📣 Damaged or Lost Devices In the unlikely event that an electronic device is stolen or damaged at school, parents can submit a claim to the Comptroller’s office. More information on submitting a claim is available on the Comptroller’s webpage.

This policy will be shared with families via email, posted on the school website, and reviewed during orientation and advisory
periods.
